Toor Dal Fry

Homestyle pigeon pea dal with garlic and cumin.

Toor Dal Fry

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Toor Dal
  • 3 cups Water
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 Green Chili, slit
  • 1 Onion, sliced

Instructions

  1. Pressure cook Toor Dal with water, salt, and turmeric.
  2. In a pan, heat ghee. Add cumin seeds, garlic, and green chili. Sauté until garlic is golden.
  3. Add sliced onions and cook until translucent. Pour this tempering over the dal. Simmer and serve.
