Panchmel Dal

Rajasthani mix of five dals for rich flavor.

Panchmel Dal

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup each of Toor, Chana, Moong, Urad, Masoor Dal
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 2 Tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala

Instructions

  1. Soak the mix of five dals for 30 minutes. Pressure cook until soft.
  2. Heat ghee, add cumin seeds. Sauté onions until golden, then add ginger-garlic paste and tomatoes.
  3. Add spices and cook masala. Pour over the cooked dal and simmer for 10 minutes.
