Oats & Moong Dal Khichdi

A supremely comforting and healthy one-pot meal, perfect for a light dinner.

Oats & Moong Dal Khichdi

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Yellow Moong Dal
  • 1/2 cup Rolled Oats
  • 1 Carrot, chopped
  • 1/4 cup Green Peas
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  • Tempering: Ghee/Oil, Cumin Seeds, Hing

Instructions

  1. Dry roast the oats for 2 minutes and set aside.
  2. In a pressure cooker, heat ghee or oil and add cumin seeds and hing.
  3. Sauté carrots and peas for a minute. Add rinsed moong dal, roasted oats, turmeric, salt, and 3 cups of water.
  4. Pressure cook for 2-3 whistles. Serve hot with a dollop of ghee (optional).
