Moong Dal Pakoda

Iconic crispy fritters made from moong dal, perfect for a rainy day.

Moong Dal Pakoda

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Moong Dhuli, soaked
  • 1 Onion, sliced
  • 1 Green Chili, chopped
  • 1 inch Ginger, grated
  • A pinch of Asafoetida (Hing)
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Grind the soaked moong dal into a coarse, thick paste without adding water.
  2. Add sliced onion, green chili, ginger, hing, and salt to the paste. Whisk for a minute to aerate the batter.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and deep fry on medium heat until golden and crisp.
  4. Serve hot with green chutney or ketchup.
