Dal Pasta Sauce

A creamy, protein-packed vegan pasta sauce made from red lentils.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Masoor Dal (Red Lentils)
  • 1 can (400g) Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning
  • Salt and Pepper

Instructions

  1. Rinse and cook masoor dal with 2 cups of water until completely soft and mushy. Blend into a smooth paste.
  2. In a saucepan, heat olive oil and sauté onions and garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add crushed tomatoes and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in the lentil paste, season with salt and pepper, and simmer for another 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens. Toss with your favorite pasta.
