Dal Palak

Spinach cooked with moong dal and garlic.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Moong Dal or Toor Dal
  • 2 cups Spinach, chopped
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 1 Tomato, chopped
  • 5 cloves Garlic, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds

Instructions

  1. Cook dal until soft. In a pan, heat oil, add cumin seeds and garlic. Sauté.
  2. Add onions, cook until soft. Add tomatoes and spices. Cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Add chopped spinach and cook until wilted. Mix with the cooked dal and simmer.
