Dal Dhokla

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Chana Dal
  • 1/4 cup Rice
  • 1 tsp Ginger-Chili Paste
  • A pinch of Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Fruit Salt (Eno)
  • For tempering: Oil, Mustard Seeds, Curry Leaves

Method

    Soak chana dal and rice for 4-5 hours. Grind into a batter and let it ferment overnight.

    Add ginger-chili paste, turmeric, and salt to the batter. Just before steaming, add fruit salt and mix gently.

    Pour into a greased steaming tray and steam for 15-20 minutes.

    Top with a tempering of oil, mustard seeds, and curry leaves. Cut into squares and serve.
